The past few days here in Wisconsin have been pretty wet and dreary and the forecast for the rest of the week looks the same. Today was truly one of those I want to stay in bad all day days and I could totally feel the weight of the weather at work. After looking at my computer for 6+ hours, then the rain running down the front windows of the office, I was reminded of my daycare days and the poem I copied below. I was immediately saddened and recited this poem to myself over and over. I've never felt this way before due to rain, but the last few months in Wisconsin have been rough, especially coming from 360 days of sunshine. I guess what I am trying to say is this weather has really put a toll on me and I CAN NOT wait for summer (even with the humidity!).
I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.
I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.
